Tuesday is our 'play date' day of the week. We try to find something fun to do with some of our friends. Most recently we made cookies at our house. Everyone got in on the action, although more decorations were eaten than made it onto the cookies:)

Trent is a smarty pants. This is a 'design' he made the other day with these interlocking blocks that he got for Christmas (thanks Nebraska Cousins:) I was amazed, it is completely symmetrical and the colors all match. Caden is my little outdoor man these days. He does not care how cold it is, he just wants to be outside. His favorite is his swing, but he also likes to golf and play in his car.

February 10, 2009

This past weekend Taylor and I were able to get away ALONE! The boys stayed with HeB and GB and had a great time too:) We went to New Orleans and saw much more of people than we had ever anticipated! It was nice to have some time with Taylor, he is a great husband and I love when we get to spend time with 'just us'. Besides witnessing the craziness of Bourbon St. we did play some golf. Taylor decided that he would only write down my score if "it was a good hole". Needless to say out of 18, I only have two scores on the score card but we had a great time. The picture is of the Alligator we saw on the course, we played TPC Louisiana. So, it was not in the zoo, there was no fence, you could just walk right up and give him a good rub...... YIKES! Other than this, I sadly don't have any pictures to post. Without the kids, I just didn't think to bring my camera along.

Winter in Colorado is always unpredictable. A few weeks back it got up to about 50 degrees outside so Trent broke out the shorts! He likes to ride his bike and even though he has a 'big boy' bike with training wheels he still really likes his big wheel. Since the day that this picture was taken we have had a 70 degree day as well as below 0 temps! We headed to the Stock Show two weekends ago. Trent really loves going to the rodeo and we had a fun time looking around at all of the booths. Most of the horses had been moved out but we were able to see plenty of smelly cows! P.S. Just in case you couldn't tell the horse that Trent is on is the plastic kind:)

Caden taking the tractor for a spin. Caden is still not walking but we have 'consulted' with the Doc and we are not to worry yet.....

This past weekend was Cousin Makenna's 2nd birthday. Caden and Makenna had a fun time playing with her new little kitchen.
Tonight Trent got to eat a "push up pop" after eating such a great supper (peanut butter sandwich and applesauce.....) I guess he had a little sugar surge because he was even more of a motor mouth than usual. Here are some of the funny things that he said.
-"Daddy, how was your day (pause) at the office?"
-"Mom, when was Caden made in heaven?"
(I answered before he was in my tummy)
-"Was he made and then there was a hole and they threw him down?"
(I told him it wasn't quite like that)
-"Then how did he get in there?"
(I said that he was in there when he was really tiny)
-"Oh, maybe they have a little shelf and he was really tiny and they picked him up....but how did he get in there?"
(I told him that God just gives Mommy's and Daddy's babies)
-"But how does he get in there?"
(This is when I told him it was something for him to understand when he was older....)

January 6, 2009

I had a great two weeks off of work and we enjoyed spending time with family and friends. For new years we headed out to the Zoo Lights and then downtown to Old Chicago for dinner and to see the fireworks. The kids all had a great time and all of the parents did too:)

We finished up our Christmas break with a family trip to the mountains. We enjoyed two nights at a 'cabin' in Breckenridge with friends from Glenwood and Wichita. Trent spent quite a bit of time beating everyone in Wii bowling and the rest of us tried to relax and enjoy the snow. Saturday afternoon I took Trent up skiing for the first time. Of course we didn't do it the right way, no lessons or practice on the bunny slope. Sage and I just put Trent in all the gear and loaded him on the lift. He actually did really well, even though he was crying and yelling "I'm never going to ski again" by the time we got to the bottom. The problem turned out to be his hands. They were icicles! We had just bought new gloves for Trent, but apparently they were not warm enough for a cold day on the slopes. Trent says that his favorite part of skiing was ridding the ski lift and has agreed to go again with hand warmers AND on a sunny day!

My Two Goofballs

I thought that these two pictures captured how goofy Trent and Caden can be.

I caught Caden in the act of helping himself to a little snack. The boy knows when he feels a little grumbly in his tumbly....

A picture is worth a thousand words. Need I say more....
